Dear Parishioners,

The decision to close our parish in light of the COVID-19 pandemic was a very difficult one and we recognize the tremendous spiritual sacrifice of the faithful during this time. We also want to do all that we can to minimize the potential spread of COVID-19 in our community.

We know that you have questions and are anxious to return to our parish. The Archdiocese of Toronto has posted an update to let you know where we are at present and what we’ve been doing to prepare for the days ahead.

My dear Parishioners,

May the grace and peace of God our father and the Lord Jesus Christ be with you! During this state of emergency, our parish has temporarily closed its doors in order to assist in limiting the spread of the COVID-19 virus. While it is a painful moment in the life of our parish, we pray that it will help in combating the pandemic that has affected so many in our community and around the world. We, your priests continue to celebrate Holy Mass and spend time before our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament each day praying for this pandemic to end. We care a great deal about the health and well-being of our parishioners.

I would like to sincerely thank all those who have been sending in their weekly donations and SHARELIFE support through direct deposit, by mail or otherwise.

At a time like this it can be uncomfortable to talk about giving. However, the reality is that our parish relies on your generous support for its day-to-day operation– parish salaries and ongoing operating costs (heating, water, electricity, etc.). The BILLS KEEP COMING in the mail. We urgently need your help to maintain operations.

I encourage you to consider making a donation to your parish at this time by:

  • Mailing your regular weekly offertory contribution to the parish office at 8500 Islington Ave. Woodbridge, Ontario L4L 1X4.
  • Donating online by going to our homepage and selecting the DONATE button.
  • Contributing through Pre-Authorized Giving (PAG), contact the parish office. (A tax receipt will be issued for all donations).

May the Risen Christ bring peace and comfort to those suffering and grant eternal rest to the faithful departed.

Dear Parishioners of St. Margaret Mary Church,

In order to limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus and so as to comply with the Government of Ontario’s new regulations requiring that all non-essential workplaces be closed, we are sorry to inform you that the church and the parish office must remain closed until further notice. Also, all sacraments will be postponed for the duration of this emergency.

This is a deeply painful, but necessary, decision for our faith community.

However, we are still here for you during this difficult time. You can still leave a voicemail at the parish office: (905) 851-2661. Or you can email us at: office@stmargmary.com. We will return your message as soon as possible. Visit www.archtoronto.org/covid19 for updated information from the Archdiocese of Toronto and for links to view the Daily Mass online.

Please continue to pray for those sick and those caring for them. Be assured of our daily prayers for you.

Yours in Christ,

Rev. Rony Grayda
